The Fryderyk Chopin Birthplace and Park in Żelazowa Wola have invariably been a destination for lovers of Fryderyk Chopin's work from all over the world for several decades. Due to the opening of the new permanent exhibition, which was officially inaugurated in May 2015, we particularly encourage you to visit the Polish composer's birthplace.
This is only the third exhibition in the history of the place. The idea of creating a museum dedicated to Chopin in Żelazowa Wola appeared as early as the end of the 19th century, but was not realised until the 1930s. At that time, the Chopin outbuilding was thoroughly renovated, and the addition of a column porch gave the building the features of a noble manor house. Work on the interior decoration also began at the same time. The inauguration of the new museum was interrupted in 1939 by the outbreak of war. The museum was not officially opened until 1949, on the 100th anniversary of Fryderyk Chopin's death.
