The exhibition "wySNNUTE threads" is the latest exposition of the Filip de Girard Museum of Linen-making in Żyrardów, which presents the technological process carried out in the preparatory department of the weaving mill of the largest and most important linen factory in Europe at the end of the 19th century, which was Zakłady Lniarskie in Żyrardów. One of the museum's halls presents exhibits used in the intermediate process between spinning and weaving, including above all large-scale industrial machines that were used in production from the 1970s until the factory was closed down in 1999.
Starting the tour of the exhibition at first glance, one notices hundreds of colourful threads interwoven through the various elements of the machines, including the belt snowaddle and the reel winder. Interestingly, 576 windings of colourful yarn were suspended from the frame of the belt snow reel, which, arranged in strips, form the colours of the flag of the town of Żyrardów.
