The permanent exhibition "The History of Legionowo Garrison. Times of War and Peace" presents over 270 memorabilia from the 120-year history of the garrison. The exhibits come from all stages of the army's activity in Legionowo. The oldest section concerns the first years of the garrison's existence (1892-1915) and is related to Russian units. Among other things, there are atelier photographs of Tsarist officers, badges, belt buckles and buttons. Valuable relics are German postcards depicting the appearance of the barracks during the First World War. Also of interest are relics related to the activities of unique Polish Army units stationed in Legionowo in the inter-war period, such as the 1st Armoured Train Squadron or the 2nd Balloon Battalion. Memorabilia relating to officers of the 2nd BB taking part in national and international balloon competitions stands out here. The section devoted to the period of the German occupation (1939-1944) contains valuable testimonies of active underground activity in Legionowo, including a copy of the "Reduta" information bulletin and the contents of the rucksack of an insurgent from the 704th Platoon of the 1st Home Army District "Marianowo-Brzozów" (Legionowo). The exhibition also includes memorabilia related to the building in which the 'Piaski' Branch is located and exhibits connected with the 1st Tadeusz Kościuszko Warsaw Mechanised Division stationed in Legionowo for many years. An integral part of the exhibition is an open-air artillery display, formerly located near the House of Traditions of the 1st WDZ.
